Twenty-Three-Year-Old Man Arraigned for Stabbing Crime

(WOONSOCKET, R.I.) -- A 23-year-old man was arraigned on charges in a stabbing crime Wednesday.

Louis Callei stabbed a woman numerous times and then fled from police in Woonsocket Tuesday. The victim was hospitalized for her wounds, and several officers were treated for exposure after jumping into the Peters River in pursuit of Callei.

The suspect was also charged with illegal prescription drug possession. It is unclear what his motives were in the crime.
