Gas Station Clerk Shot and Killed in Meriden Robbery

(MERIDEN, Conn.) -- A clerk at a gas station in Meriden was shot and killed during a robbery early Wednesday morning.
The robbery reportedly happened around 1:30 a.m. at the Citgo station convenience store located on East Main Street. One witness told police that a man with a handgun entered the store, demanded money from the clerk and after receiving the cash, shot the clerk in the chest and fled.
The victim was taken to MidState Medican Center, where he died.
There were no immediate arrests.
