Multi-Vehicle Crash Causes Congestion on I-84 in Waterbury

(WATERBURY, Conn.) -- Traffic in both directions along Interstate 84 in Waterbury was affected by a multi-vehicle crash on Friday morning.

The crash happened on I-84 in the vicinity of exit 23, with a westbound tractor trailer crossing the median and colliding with at least two other vehicles, according to published reports.

The crash initially led to the highway being shut down in both directions in the vicinity of the collision, however, eventually one lane was reopened in each direction as crews worked to clean up the scene and investigate the crash.

Injuries were reported, but there were no immediate details on the severity of the injuries or just exactly how many people were injured.
