Road Enforcement Efforts Ramp Up for Memorial Day Weekend

(MIDDLETOWN, Conn.) -- The Connecticut State Police will ramp up its efforts to ensure safety on the state's roadways over the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.

In a press release, State Police said they will be using enforcement methods such as utilizing laser units for speed enforcement; using marked and unmarked, non-traditional police vehicles to patrol roadways; and enlisting the services of the State Police Aviation Unit to provide an aerial assistance in patrolling roadways.

Officials are advising motorists to: buckle up, obey speed limits, avoid distractions while driving and to refrain from driving under the influence.
