Stamford Police Officer Improving after Fall

(STAMFORD, Conn.) -- A Stamford police officer who was critically injured during a fall while chasing a suspect over a week ago is improving, according to ABC affiliate WTNH-TV.

Officer Troy Strauser, who is married with three kids, is eating solid food and walking, Stamford police told WTNH.  Strauser was chasing Frank Douglas, who has since been charged with assault and robbery, along I-95 in Norwalk when he fell 20 feet and landed face-down.

Stamford police are trying to raise funds to help with Strauser's recovery, according to the report.
