Suspects Held, Money Recovered Following Granby Bank Robbery

(GRANBY, Conn.) -- Two suspects were arrested in Granby on Tuesday following a bank robbery and a chase with police.

Police said on Tuesday morning the Windsor Federal Bank on Hartford Ave. was robbed of a sum of money by a man wearing a mask and gloves. According to published reports, around the time of the robbery a police officer in the area noticed a man with gloves running from the area of the bank, and then getting into a waiting car.

Police officers tried to pull over the suspect vehicle, but the driver failed to comply, leading to a chase, stated reports. Officials said eventually the car was stopped by police and Gregory Orton, 25, and the driver Jack Britton, 40, were arrested on larceny and robbery charges.

Police said $11,720 was recovered.
