Woman Killed in Head-On Crash in East Lyme

(EAST LYME, Conn.) -- A 60-year-old woman was killed in a head-on crash in East Lyme early Tuesday morning.

The crash reportedly happened around 2:20 a.m. on the northbound side of Interstate 95 between exits 74 and 75. Police said a car driven by Bonnie Buratti, of Old Lyme, was traveling south on the northbound side of the roadway when the car collided head-on with a tractor trailer.

Buratti was taken to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to published reports.

The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.
