$4.4 Million for Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

(ALBANY, N.Y.) -- New York State has awarded $4.4 million to 10 companies, municipalities and other entities towards installing some 325 new electric vehicle charging stations across the state.

State officials said the move to have the charging stations installed would benefit motorists who have been dealing with high gas prices, and would benefit the state otherwise.

"Creating an infrastructure to accommodate electric vehicles will create jobs and new economic development across the state, while reducing our carbon footprint and helping protect the environment," Governor Andrew Cuomo said in a statement.
