'Madam' Running Against Spitzer Arrested on Drug Charges

Joe Kohen/WireImage(NEW YORK) -- A woman known as the Manhattan Madam, who is now running for public office in New York, is under arrest.

Kristin Davis is running for New York City Comptroller against Eliot Spitzer, who resigned as New York governor in 2008 for soliciting a prostitute that Davis supplied.

At the time, she ran a high-end escort service. Now she's been arrested by the FBI on charges of repeatedly selling oxycodone and other highly-addictive drugs.

On a regular basis, court records say, she sold pills -- Adderall, Xanax and Ambien -- to a dealer cooperating with the FBI.

Davis is charged with drug offenses that come with significant prison time if convicted.
