Sarah Palin Calls Non-Candidacy 'Liberating'

Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- After a week on the road with her "One Nation Tour," Sarah Palin still seems ambivalent about jumping into the 2012 presidential race.

“Not only do I love my freedom of not having a title and being a declared candidate — that is liberating — I know you can make a difference as an individual,” she said on Sean Hannity's Fox News show Friday night. “Hopefully, I can inspire others to know that you don’t need a title. You don’t need to be in office to effect positive change.”

Yet, she said, she's still interested in running.

“It has been great being with my family on the trail, so the fire in the belly, it rages on after this week and continuing through the summer,” Palin said. She's expected to visit Iowa and South Carolina as the summer goes on, and she confirmed earlier this week that her "One Nation Tour" will go west.

She suggested that the Republican establishment has reason to fear the tea party.

“If they’re not careful in the GOP, there will be a third party rise-up," she said. "That is what the GOP should be fearing today.”

Where in the World is Sarah Palin?

Spencer Platt/Getty Images(WASHINGTON) -- Campaigns for presidential candidates, and potential presidential candidates alike, are usually happy to oblige to being covered by the media, however, this has not been the case with Sarah Palin recently -- bare in mind she hasn’t officially declared as a candidate

Late last week Palin announced she would be joining the Memorial Day “Rolling Thunder” parade in Washington, D.C., launching a promotional “One Nation” bus tour and driving from D.C. through the north east coast  to New Hampshire, a critical state in the primary campaign.

But many in the media – which Palin often calls the “lame stream media” – couldn’t even find the One Nation bus Sunday morning.

Over the weekend, Palin aides indicated that the tour schedule would be posted on Palin's political action committee website,, but as of Sunday morning there were no updates.
