Trump: 'I Consider Myself the Presumptive Nominee'

ABC News(NEW YORK) -- Donald Trump is viewing his projected GOP primary victories Tuesday night as being about more than just the five states that voted.

"I consider myself the presumptive nominee," Trump said during his victory press conference Tuesday night.

"This is a far bigger win than we expected," he added.

"This one's a diverse victory.... Every one of them is conclusive and every state is so different," Trump said of his projected victories in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

"When you crack 60 [percent] with three people, that's very hard to do," Trump said.

He commented on the allegiance announced between Trump's competitors, Sen. Ted Cruz and Gov. John Kasich, saying that it was "a strange moment" and called it a reflection of weakness.

"The Republican Party needs something very different," Trump said.

Trump also took on his possible Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, saying that she "has nothing else going" besides being a woman.

"I think the only card she has is the woman's card. She has nothing else going. Frankly, if Hillary Clinton were a man, I don't think she would get 5 percent of the vote. The only thing she has got going is the woman's card," he said. "The beautiful thing is, women don't like her. Look how well I did with women tonight."

Earlier Tuesday evening, Trump attended the Time 100 Gala, and was seen walking the red carpet while wearing a tuxedo. He changed clothes before returning to Trump Tower for his victory speech.

At least two politicians who endorsed Trump were spotted in the crowd: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown.
