Tahoe Inspectors Find Invasive Mussels on Boat

(LAKE TAHOE, Calif.) -- Inspectors found a boat's hull to be carrying 37 quagga mussels, a dangerously invasive species, after the craft attempted to enter Lake Tahoe, according to the Tahoe Daily News.

The motorboat came from Lake Mead in Nevada, where the mussels have become rampant. The boat was decontaminated in hot water several times after the inspection.

Conservationists fear that invasive species like quagga mussels threaten Lake Tahoe's ecosystem.

Golfer Appeals to Public After Making Boy Cry at Reno Golf Event

(RENO, Nev.) -- PGA golfer Pat Perez says he's sorry for dismissing a young boy's overtures for an autograph after he finished in second place at the Reno-Tahoe Open on Sunday.

The Golf Channel caught the incident on live television, which showed the boy crying as Perez walked by him and spiked his water bottle into the ground in displeasure. Perez called his actions "unprofessional" and appealed to the public via Twitter for help in finding the boy and his father.

Perez also said, amid a series of apologetic tweets Monday, that he has "got something big for him," in reference to the boy.

On Tuesday, he was able to track the boy down through the help of Twitter.

"Alright. Found the boy!! Talked to his father. Great guy. We talked about the situation. Apologized to him and son. Getting gift together," Perez tweeted.

There was no word on what type of gift the boy was set to receive from the golfer.
