Medicinal Marijuana Bill Passes State Senate Committee

(RENO, Nev.) -- A state Senate committee unanimously approved a bill on Thursday that would make medical marijuana dispensaries legal in Nevada.

The legislation, which still must be approved by the full Senate as well as the assembly, is a foundation for potential establishment and regulation of medical marijuana dispensaries.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, Gov. Brian Sandoval would support legalization of medical marijuana, but not recreational marijuana.

The Reno Gazette-Journal says that Reno Mayor Bob Cashell wants the city to start working on zoning policies immediately, in order to properly regulate dispensaries if the bill were to become law.
