Hundreds of Thousands Take Part in 'Great Nevada Shakeout'

(NEW YORK) -- Over 520,000 people in Nevada are set to take part in the "Great Nevada Shakeout" on Thursday.

The event is aimed at getting residents prepared for earthquakes and focuses on informing residents about what to do when an earthquake occurs.

As part of the earthquake drill, on Thursday at 10:18 a.m. Nevada residents of all ages will drop to the ground, take cover by getting under a sturdy desk or table, and hold on until the "shaking" stops.

Over 14 millon people in several states across the U.S., as well as in other countries, will participate in the same drill on Thursday.
