Local Mom Sentenced to Prison for Allowing Fatal Abuse of Child

(RENO, Nev.) -- A mother, 21, who allowed her live-in boyfriend to repeatedly beat her daughter, 2, who later died from his abuse, was ordered on Thursday to serve at least four years in jail, The Reno Gazette-Journal reports.

Tkeyah Jordan pleaded guilty to child abuse causing substantial bodily harm for the November murder of her young child, Nalaya Jordan.

Jordan’s boyfriend, Trevor Swanson, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder earlier this month for fatally shaking and beating the child to death in the couple’s Reno apartment.
