Suspect Eludes Police in Reno Standoff

(RENO, Nev.) -- A suspect is being sought following a police standoff in Reno on Monday.

Police say a burglary suspect was spotted at the Silver Terrace apartments on Wedekind Road on Monday afternoon, however, when officers tried to make contact with the suspect, he reportedly fled and entered an apartment unit, with the occupants of the apartment then fleeing.

Believing the suspect was inside, police surrounded the apartment complex, with SWAT officers and negotiators being called to the scene. Officials say eventually officers stormed the building in search of the suspect, only to realize he had somehow managed to escape.
