Brother and Sister Arrested After Alleged Street Fight with Cops
(SALT LAKE CITY) -- A man and his sister were arrested by Salt Lake City police early Friday morning after they allegedly got into a tussle with police officers.
A police report stated that shortly after midnight officers responded to a call about a street fight in the area of 654 North 800 West. At the scene, officials said an intoxicated man got into a fight with officers, and while that scuffle was taking place his sister reportedly began striking an officer.
The woman -- identified as Christina Ruiz, 36, -- was eventually taken into custody, and her brother Richard Romero, 22, was arrested after pepper spray was deployed on him.
Romero is charged with public intoxication and assault, among other charges. Ruiz is charged with interfering and assault on a police officer.
