Head-On Collision in Woods Cross Leaves One Woman Dead
(SALT LAKE CITY) -- A woman is dead after being airlifted from a head-on collision in Woods Cross, The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
The accident happened just after 8 a.m. as the victim drove her Isuzu Rodeo eastbound on 2600 West. The woman swerved sharply to the left and hit a car waiting to turn and then collided head-on into a westbound pickup truck. A witness told police the woman appeared to slump over her steering wheel before the crash, the paper says.
The victim was flown by helicopter to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, where she was later pronounced dead. Police say the woman's identity is being withheld pending notification of her family.
The driver of the pickup truck was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released, according to the Tribune.
