Man Arrested, Accused of Kidnapping Niece

(WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah) -- A 42-year-old man was arrested Thursday after being accused of kidnapping his 13-year-old niece, reports our ABC affiliate KTVX-TV.

On Thursday night, West Valley City police arrested Luis Gomez Velasco at 6300 West and 3600 South. The police suspected Velasco intended on taking his niece to Mexico. The girl was reported missing on Thursday night by her mother.

Velasco and his niece had a sexual relationship for over two years, investigators say.

Velasco is facing felony charges including aggravated sexual abuse of a child, rape of a child and child kidnapping.  The girl was returned to her family.
