Man Asked for Cigarette Then Met with Gunfire

(SALT LAKE CITY) -- No one was injured but police are searching or two suspects in connection with a shooting in Salt Lake City early Thursday morning.

According to a police report, a McDonald's employee was sitting in his car in a parking lot located on the 900 block of W. North Temple around 4 a.m. when he was approached by two suspects -- who appeared to be in their late teens or early 20s -- who asked him for a cigarette. Police said some words were exchanged and one of the suspects whipped out a pistol and fired a shot into the victim's car. The victim was not hit.

The suspects then fled on foot.
