No Utah Transit Authority Buses or Trains on Memorial Day

(SALT LAKE CITY) -- The Utah Transit Authority will not provide any bus or train service on Monday, The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

The UTA started eliminating service on Memorial Day and Labor Day in 2010 in an effort to save money.  Those holidays had previously run on a Sunday schedule.

A spokesman for the UTA says the low number of riders on past Memorial and Labor Days was another factor in the decision to cut service.  Buses and trains will be up and running again on Tuesday.
