Victims Nab Man Who Allegedly Broke into Their Car

(SALT LAKE CITY) -- A 30-year-old man was arrested early Friday morning in Salt Lake City after he allegedly broke into a car and was then confronted by the victims.

The incident was reported shortly after 3:30 a.m. on the 700 block of N Redwood Rd. Police said the victims left their parked car and went into a store, only to return and find that the vehicle had been broken into and items stolen. A police report stated that the victims spotted a man a short distance away who was carrying some of their missing items and upon confronting the suspect, he allegedly threatened them with a knife.

The victims managed to detain the suspect -- identified as Neal O'Neal -- until police arrived and arrested him for aggravated assault, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of burglary tools, and miscellaneous theft charges.
