Two Mountain Lion Sightings in Woodside

(WOODSIDE, Calif.) -- A mountain lion was spotted early Friday morning in Woodside, the second such sighting in about six hours, according to San Mateo County emergency officials.

The first sighting of the lion was about 6 p.m. near 359 Preston Road and state Highway 84 and the later sighting was at approximately 12:05 a.m. near High and Woodside roads.

It was unclear if the two sightings were of the same cougar.

In the event of an encounter with a mountain lion, emergency officials advise residents to try and appear large and make noise.
