Man Gets 9 Years in Prison for Sex with Missing Calif. Teen

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) -- Fifty-nine-year-old Edward Christy of Albuquerque, N.M., has been sentenced to nine years in prison for engaging in sexual activity with an underage female from California.
Christy was sentenced on Wednesday after pleading guilty last September to charges of coercion and enticement of a minor to travel in interstate commerce to engage in sexual activity and possession of child pornography. In addition to the prison sentence, Christy has been ordered to pay the victim $500 in restitution.
Officials said Christy has admitted that between October 1, 2009, and November 9, 2009, he induced the 16-year-old girl to travel from California to New Mexico to engage in sexual activity. Christy has also confessed to having sexual intercourse with the victim.
