AG Announces $571 Million Price-Fixing Settlement

(SAN FRANCISCO) -- Three manufacturers have agreed to pay $571 million in damage claims and civil penalties as part of a settlement reached with the attorneys general of eight states, including California.

The settlement comes as companies Toshiba Corp.; LG Display Co., Ltd.; and AU Optronics Corporation were accused of engaging in price-fixing of flat screen LCD panels for monitors, laptops and televisions.

As part of the settlement, the companies will also contribute to a fund for injured consumers and affected businesses.
