Alleged Intruder Shot and Killed by Pot-Growing Homeowner

(OAKLAND, Calif.) -- One person is dead following a home invasion incident at a residence which reportedly houses a legal marijuana-growing operation in Oakland.

The incident happened around 4:40 a.m. Monday on the 300 block of Seventh Street. Police said it appears that three suspects forced their way into the home, and were met by gunfire from the homeowner, with one suspect being killed along with one of the homeowner's dogs.

The other two suspects managed to escape and remain at large.
