While those staying on the top floor were advised to evacuate,  all other guests were told to stay where they were.<br /><br />The fire was apparently started by a barbecue on the roof, reports the <em>Chronicle</em>.<br /><br />The  Senator Hotel is a part of the non-profit Community Housing Partnership  network and houses former homeless people. <p>The station was shut while BART police investigated the death.</p>
<p>No further information was made available by authorities, but the investigation is ongoing.</p>

However, approximately 50 protesters opted to purchase tickets and enter AT&amp;T Park, leading to arrests.</p>
<p>After staging what police called a "sit down," the protesters were advised by officers that they were in violation of the AT&amp;T Park/Giants fan code of conduct.<br /><br />Police say 10 protesters were then arrested after refusing to leave, while the remaining protesters were escorted off the premises without incident.
