At Least One Injured in Bayview Shooting

(SAN FRANCISCO) -- At least one person was injured in a shooting in the Bayview District on Thursday night.

The shooting happened around 7:40 p.m. in the area of Fitzgerald and Ingalls streets. San Francisco Police say five people were in a vehicle, when a green sedan approached and someone in the sedan opened fire on the other vehicle.

At least one person was hit and was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

There were no immediate arrests.

Police Arrest Seven at Protest

(SAN FRANCISCO) -- Police arrested seven people at a former community garden called the Hayes Valley Farm who were protesting a planned housing development.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, police officers arrived at the scene and ordered 55 people to leave. All but five of the protesters left without incident. Two were arrested peacefully and three were removed from platforms in trees.

The five arrested on site were charged with suspicion of trespassing and disorderly conduct. Two additional people were arrested outside of the camp on suspicion of disorderly conduct, says the Chronicle.

The protest was staged after a plan was announced to turn the community garden into a 282-unit housing complex. More than 100 of those units will be affordable for low-income residents.

Teen Allegedly Sets Neighbor’s Lawn on Fire with Flaming Tennis Ball

(SAN FRANCISCO) -- San Francisco police arrested a teen on Wednesday after he allegedly set his neighbor’s lawn on fire with a flaming tennis ball.

According to the police report, the 13-year-old was in his backyard in the 100 block of Caine Street at 6:45 p.m. when he decided to light a tennis ball on fire. He doused the ball with a flammable liquid and lit it.

Predictably, the flaming tennis ball started to burn his hand, and the teen threw is over a fence to get rid of it. It landed on his 57-year-old neighbor’s dry grass, which quickly caught on fire.

The fire was extinguished soon after, and police arrived to arrest the teen, who complained of pain in his hand.

San Francisco Cops Arrest 'Prolific Burglary Suspect'

(SAN FRANCISCO) -- Police have arrested a 39-year-old man they're calling a "prolific burglary suspect," in connection with a string of burglaries in San Francisco dating back to December last year.

Roman Jarvis is facing a total of 17 counts on charges that include burglary and auto theft, as well as possession of stolen property and burglary tools. The charges stem from a total of nine incidents.

Police allege that Jarvis went about committing burglaries decked out in a duty belt with several tools, including a stethoscope to listen for activity in another room if residents were present.

Collision Between Muni Bus and Trolley Injures 15

(SAN FRANCISCO) -- A collision between a Muni bus and a trolley on Market Street Wednesday sent 15 people to the hospital, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The accident happened at 11:04 a.m. when an F-line trolley crashed into the back of a 9L-San Bruno bus at a bus stop at the intersection of Market and Sixth Streets.

The trolley car was moving slowly – less than 10 miles per hour according to Muni spokesman Paul Rose, but several trolley passengers were knocked down and injured. Among those injured were seven children who were on a field trip to the Cable Car Museum.

None of the injured were seriously hurt, instead suffering a variety of minor bumps and bruises.

The incident is being investigated and following protocol, both drivers were given drug and alcohol tests.
