AG Announces $571 Million Price-Fixing Settlement

(SAN FRANCISCO) -- Three manufacturers have agreed to pay $571 million in damage claims and civil penalties as part of a settlement reached with the attorneys general of eight states, including California.

The settlement comes as companies Toshiba Corp.; LG Display Co., Ltd.; and AU Optronics Corporation were accused of engaging in  price fixing of flat screen LCD panels for monitors, laptops and televisions.

As part of the settle ment, the companies will also contribute to a fund for injured consumers and affected businesses.
