From 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Saturday, the SFPD will man DUI/driver's license checkpoints. Karagan recently graduated from the law school.<br /><br />Karagan and his two fellow defendants in the case, Justin Teixeira, 24, and Eric Cuellar, 24, were also involved in the incident in which a guinea fowl was beheaded at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev. in October. The <em>Chronicle</em> reports that the three allegedly chased the bird into the trees in the hotel's wildlife habitat before emerging with the bird's severed head. All three were apparently intoxicated at the time.<br /><br />Karagan will spend two days in prison and do 48 hours of community service. Cuellar was previously sentenced to 48 hours of community service and a $200 fine. <p>(SAN FRANCISCO) -- A man driving on Interstate 580 was   killed when a  metal pipe broke through his windshield and hit him in the   jaw.<br /><br />According to the <em>San Francisco Chronicle</em>,  the man   was driving west on I-580  near Livermore at about 8 a.m. on  Wednesday when the  accident  occurred. After the pipe smashed through  his front windshield, the victim's vehicle proceeded to crash into an   embankment.</p>

He then returned to the scene and parked the truck. The bicycle was dragged about one block.<br /><br />The driver cooperated with investigators and drugs and alcohol are not considered factors in the accident. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a male victim with   gunshot wounds to his buttocks, leg and hand.<br /><br />The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with what are considered non-life-threatening injuries.<br /><br />The   shooter, an unidentified male, reportedly left the scene in a red   vehicle with a 21-year-old woman. <p>(SAN FRANCISCO) -- A man had his laptop stolen Monday night by three men, one of whom fired a handgun during the incident.</p>
<p>According to police, the victim, 36, was on Sutter Street when  shortly before 8:30 p.m. he was approached by three black men all  thought to have been 18 years old.</p>
<p>They grabbed at the man&rsquo;s laptop bag and a struggle ensued. One  suspect drew a handgun and was able to get a hold of the bag after  another struck the man in the jaw.</p>
<p>The man chased the robbers down the street, but stopped when the handgun-wielding suspect fired off a shot.</p>
<p><span>The man was uninjured aside from the hit  to the jaw, which was very minor. The three men got away with his  laptop, carrying case and cell <span>phone</span>.</span></p>
