Bicyclist Charged with Vehicular Manslaughter in Pedestrian Death

(SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.) -- A man has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, a felony offense, for fatally striking a 71-year-old pedestrian with his bike in March, the San Francisco Gate reports.

A San Francisco judge signed an arrest warrant for Chris Bucchere on Wednesday, according to law enforcement sources. The defendant is expected to surrender to police by the end of the week. Prosecutors concluded that 36-year-old Bucchere was grossly negligent in his bicycle riding before he struck Stuchi Hui in a crosswalk at Market and Castro Streets on March 29.
