Californian Among Six Soldiers Killed in IED Attack in Afghanistan
(WASHINGTON) -- The Department of Defense, on Wednesday, released the names of six soldiers who were killed in an enemy attack while serving in Afghanistan -- among them a California resident.
The soldiers died on Sunday after enemy forces attacked their unit with an improvised explosive device in Maidan Shahr, Wardak province, Afghanistan.
The soldiers killed have been identified as: Pfc. Alejandro J. Pardo, 21, of Porterville, Calif.; Staff Sgt. Ricardo Seija, 31, of Tampa, Fla.; Spc. Erica P. Alecksen, 21, of Eatonton, Ga.; Spc. Clarence Williams III, 23, of Brooksville, Fla.; Pfc. Trevor B. Adkins, 21, of Spring Lake, N.C.; and Pfc. Cameron J. Stambaugh, 20, of Spring Grove, Pa.
They were assigned to the 978th Military Police Company, 93rd Military Police Battalion, Fort Bliss, Texas.
