Candlestick Point Saved

(SAN FRANCISCO) -- Candlestick Point Recreation Area and other parks were allocated $10 million by Gov. Jerry Brown, which will allow officials extra time to find alternative ways to keep the parks open, according to the San Francisco Examiner.

Candlestick Point was one of the 16 state parks in the Bay Area that was scheduled to close on July 1 due to lack of funding from donors and nonprofits. Now the park will stay open without an official close day because of the government funding.
