Fire Damages San Jose Apartment Building

(SAN JOSE, Calif.) -- Firefighters were called into action Tuesday night after a fire broke out at a San Jose apartment building.

Authorities say the three-alarm blaze erupted around 8 p.m. at the building located at 299 Cartago Court. Fire crews responded to the scene and were able to get the inferno under control by around 10 p.m. Officials say a gas leak hindered firefighters’ attempts to extinguish the flames.

At least one person was reportedly injured in the fire, according to a report by the San Jose Mercury News. Investigations are continuing into the cause of the blaze.
