(SAN FRANCISCO) -- Wednesday marks the first day in the history of the Golden Gate Bridge that there will be no humans collecting tolls at the bridge.
Beginning Wednesday, all tolls for vehicles using the bridge will be processed electronically, according to the Golden Gate Bridge website.
Drivers can pay by using a FasTrak account, or by a toll invoice (with no added fees) being mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle. Either way, motorists will no longer have to stop to pay toll collectors, as they have been all removed with the implementation of the new electronic system.
