Health Dept. Advises Against Eating Certain Brand of Licorice

(LOS ANGELES) -- California residents are being advised against eating a certain brand of licorice that is sold in the state.

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) issued a statement Thursday advising consumers not to eat Lucky Country Aussie Style Soft Gourmet Licorice Black Natural Ingredients candy, from Lot A3057.

Department officials issued the warning, stating that tests done by the CDPH found that the products contained levels of lead that exceeded the state’s standards.
