(SAN FRANCISCO) -- Early Friday morning, two elderly men died in a fire in the Excelsior District, ABC affiliate KGO-TV reports.
At 3:34 a.m. the fire was called in at 181 Vienna St., close to John McLaren Park. The blaze was extinguished around 4:11 a.m. Unfortunately, the men were hoarders with piles of belongings that reached up to 8 feet high. The firefighters had a difficult time reaching the men due to all their items. One man tried to get out and the other might have been bed ridden, according to a neighbor.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
