Man Fatally Shot by Officer at Vacaville Police Station

(VACAVILLE, Calif.) -- A man is dead following a police-involved shooting in Vacaville on Thursday.

The shooting reportedly happened around 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Vacaville Police Department headquarters on Merchant Street. Police said the man was in possession of a knife and engaged in threatening actions towards an officer, who then opened fire, fatally wounding the man, according to published reports.

The dead man's name was not immediately released.
