Salmonella Fear Prompts Cantaloupe Recall

(FRESNO, Calif.) -- California-based company DFI Marketing is recalling some cantaloupes that have been distributed, due to concerns that the products may be contaminated with Salmonella.

According to a company news release, the recall was issued after Salmonella was found on a sample of cantaloupe during routine testing by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The company said the recalled cantaloupes may have been distributed between Aug. 27 and Sept. 10, to customers in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New York, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Mexico.
