(10) Miami Avoids Upset, Defeats North Carolina 27-23

Streeter Lecka/Getty Images(CHAPEL HILL, N.C.) -- No. 10 Miami's resurgent season continued Thursday night after defeating North Carolina 27-23 to improve to 6-0 on the season.

Even though North Carolina came into the contest with just one win, they put up a fight, and nearly upset the Hurricanes.

In the fourth quarter, North Carolina had a 23-13 lead over Miami, and looked primed to pull off the upset. But with just 16 seconds left in the quarter, Dallas Crawford scored the go-ahead touchdown to give Miami a 27-23 led.

"We're resilient," Crawford said. "We've been through a lot over the years. It took a long time to get to this point. In years past, we probably would have lost this game. But it's all about believing, and that's what we did tonight."

Hurricanes quarterback Stephen Morris didn't have his strongest game of the season, but he did enough to win. He completed 19 of 35 passes for 322 yards, but he also threw four interceptions.

Crawford had 33 carries for 137 yards with two touchdowns.
