(14) Stanford Defeats (1) Oregon, 17-14

Steve Dykes/Getty Images(EUGENE, Ore.) -- Sophomore kicker Jordan Williamson nailed a 37 yard field goal in overtime to give (14) Stanford (9-2) a 17-14 victory over (1) Oregon (10-1) Saturday night. The loss ends the Ducks 13-game winning streak, which was the nation's longest coming into the contest.

Trailing 14-7 with 1:35 left in the game, Cardinal freshman quarterback Kevin Hogan connected with junior wide receiver Zach Ertz for a 10-yard touchdown.  The play was initially ruled incomplete, but a video replay ruled Ertz had control of the ball while he was fighting with a defender as both fell to the turf. Williamson’s extra point tied the game.

“I’ll give them credit, they played hard,” Ducks head coach Chip Kelly said of Stanford. “Good defense, they ran the ball, power football.  We kind of knew that going in; we knew it was going to be this type of game. Give a lot of credit to them.”
