Royals Interested in Cubs' Carlos Zambrano

Mike Zarrilli/Getty Images(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) -- Kansas City Royals general manager Dayton Moore says his team would be interested in acquiring Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano if Chicago would eat most of the three-time All Star's salary for next season.

"We would be interested. You would have to explore it because that's what you should do. You should listen," Moore told 610 Sports Radio in Kansas City. "You should explore every opportunity. Carlos Zambrano is a heck of a competitor. Carlos Zambrano has had a lot of success in the major leagues."

Later, Moore apologized for making comments about a player who is still under contract.

Zambrano is owed $18 million for the 2012 season.

NBA Players Reject Latest Offer

Christian Petersen/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The NBA Players Association has rejected the league’s latest CBA proposal, which would have given the players a chance to earn up to 51 percent in revenue sharing.

“Our orders are clear, right now the current offer that is on the table from the NBA is not one we can accept,” NBAPA President Derek Fisher said. “Our orders are also clear that we are willing to continue to negotiate.”

NBA commissioner David Stern has said if the union did not accept their proposal by Wednesday, the league’s next offer would not be as favorable for the players.

The NBA has already cancelled regular season games through November.

"We don't have anything to lose.  I feel like all the pressure is on them right now trying to figure out how to not lose the championship," Stewart, referring to Edwards and his team, told ABC News Radio.  "We've kind of got him backed in a corner a little bit.  To go out and have the last two weekends and run like we've ran, I think it's a reality check that we mean business and we're here to stay and it's not going to be easy for him."

The final race of the Chase is Nov. 20 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Twins Fire GM Bill Smith, Bring Back Terry Ryan

J. Meric/Getty Images(MINNEAPOLIS) -- The Minnesota Twins have relieved Bill Smith of his general manager duties, and will bring back Terry Ryan to be the team's interim GM.

Smith has been part of the Twins organization since 1986 and will be offered another job in the organization, according to owner Jim Pohlad. Coming off a 99-loss season, Smith was the team's general manager since 2007. During his tenure, the Twins went 332-318 and won two American League Central Division titles.

"No one in the Twins' organization wants to win any more than Bill," Pohlad said in a press release. "He is unquestionably loyal, committed, and talented. The Twins goal is to get better in 2012 and beyond."

Replacing Smith will be the man who he originally replaced, Terry Ryan. Ryan served as the team's general manager from 1994-2007.
