White Sox Beat Indians, Retain Hold On Central

Brian Kersey/Getty Images(CHICAGO) -- Adam Dunn bailed out the White Sox on Monday night.

Down to the Cleveland Indians in the eighth inning and in danger of losing their lead in the A.L. Central, Dunn hit a three-run homer to propel Chicago to a 5-4 victory.

Chicago (82-71) has a one game lead over the Detroit Tigers in the division with nine to play after the Tigers were also victorious.

Dunn had two home runs in the game to back the White Sox, who snapped a five game losing streak. Starting pitcher Chris Sale went seven innings and allowed three runs despite giving up 10 hits. Brett Myers got the victory after pitching one inning of scoreless relief.

Dunn noted the importance of the victory for his team. "The last homer, that probably was the most important so far in my career," Dunn said. "That was a win we needed."

The Indians (63-91) took a 3-1 lead in the sixth inning on a Russ Canzler home run, his second.

Seahawks Edge Packers On Controversial Hail Mary Pass

Otto Greule Jr/Getty Images(SEATTLE) -- Golden Tate caught a Hail Mary pass as time expired on the Seattle Seahawks and stunned the Green Bay Packers at CenturyLink Field on Monday night, 14-12.

Seattle (2-1) quarterback Russell Wilson scrambled and threw to the back of the endzone on the final play of the game. Tate shoved away one defender before wrestling the ball away from Green Bay's M.D. Jennings. The play was ruled a touchdown by the officials and upheld after video review.

The replacement officials, who have come under fire from players, coaches and fans, decided this one. "Don't ask me a question about the officials," Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy said. "I've never seen anything like that in all my years in football."

The Seahawks were able to get relentless pressure on Packers (1-2) quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the first half, recording eight sacks and did not allow a point.

In the second half, Rodgers and the Packers offense responded, getting a rushing touchdown from Cedric Benson and two Mason Crosby field goals. Rodgers finished 26 of 39 for 223 yards.

Wilson also threw a touchdown pass to Tate in the second quarter for the Seahawks, who won their second straight at home. Neither team turned the ball over in the game.

Jets Cornerback Darrelle Revis Out For The Season

NFL via Getty Images(FLORHAM PARK, N.J.) -- New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis will miss the remainder of the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee during Sunday’s victory over the Miami Dolphins.

The four-time Pro Bowler underwent an MRI Monday, which revealed the injury. The Jets say Revis will wait a few weeks before undergoing surgery.

“I know the way Darrelle is, that this is a guy that is competitive as it gets,” Jets head coach Rex Ryan said. “I don’t think there is any doubt he’s going to come back strong from it.”

In two games this season Revis had 11 total tackles and one interception.

Angels Owner Arte Moreno Says Scioscia and DiPoto Are Safe

Major League Baseball(NEW YORK) -- It's safe to say that the Los Angeles Angels are one of Major League Baseball's most disappointing teams this season. Despite their struggles this season, Angels owner Arte Moreno says general manager Jerry Dipoto and manager Mike Scioscia are safe.

During the offseason, the Angles signed first baseman Albert Pujols and starting pitcher C.J. Wilson. After signing a couple of the biggest free agents on the market, many thought the Angles would cruise to a division title and challenge for a World Series.

Instead, the team is in third place in the AL West, and 2.5 games out of the final Wild Card spot in the American League. Even though the team hasn't lived up to expectations, Moreno says no major changes will be made when it comes to the front office and management.

"Regardless of what happens the next 11 games, Mike Scioscia will 100 perfect return," Moreno told MLB.com. "I have told him. He wants to come back, I want him to come back. He's been the manager of the Angels for 13 years. He will be the manager of the Angels for a fourteenth year. Period."

"Jerry Dipoto will be back. I think we're learning a lot about ourselves, but [Dipoto] will be back," he added.

Scioscia signed a 10-year contract with the team back in 2009. Dipoto is in his first season as the team's general manager.

Reggie Bush Expected to Miss A Few Weeks

National Football League(NEW YORK) -- Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush was already off to one of his best seasons in the NFL, but his career-setting season will have to take a pause. Bush is expected to miss a few weeks with a knee injury.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Bush took a helmet to the left knee that could cause him to miss at least a few weeks. Despite the injury and location, Bush's injury is not considered to be season-ending. He is expected to make a near full recovery.

This will be a tough blow to the Dolphins offense. This will put more pressure on rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill to perform at a higher level. The team ranks fourth in the NFL in rushing yards per game, but just 25th in passing yards per game.

For Bush personally, this injury will likely keeping him from reaching his personal goal he set for himself heading into the 2012 season. Bush made it known multiple times that his goal was to lead the NFL in rushing.

In his first season with the Dolphins, Bush ran for 1,086 yards after never rushing for more than 581 yards in a single season during his five years with the New Orlenas Saints.

San Francisco Giants Clinch NL West Division Crown

Major League Baseball(NEW YORK) -- After missing out on the playoffs last season, the San Francisco Giants are going back to the postseason after clinching the National League West Division title and defeating the San Diego Padres 8-4 yesterday.

It's the second division title for the Giants in the last three seasons. The last time they won the division, they won the World Series back in 2010. This is just the team's second postseason appearance over the past nine seasons as well. After winning their sixth straight game yesterday, the Giants were able to clinch the division with 10 games remaining on the schedule.

"It's the first step," Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval said. "We're excited to get it done early."

Over the past few seasons, the Giants have been so successful because of their pitching. This year, it has been their offense that has been getting the job done. The team ranks 11th in the majors in runs scored and fifth in batting average.

Texans Top Manning, Broncos

Doug Pensinger/Getty Images(DENVER) -- The Houston Texans are coming off the first playoff berth in franchise history last season, and they are starting to look elite this season.

Houston stayed unbeaten and moved to 3-0 with a 31-25 victory over the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

The Texans trailed 5-0 after a safety and a field goal in the first quarter, but charged back with 21 straight points and took a 21-11 lead into halftime. Houston quarterback Matt Schaub led the offense with 290 yards passing and four touchdowns, while Arian Foster ran for 105 yards in 25 carries.

Peyton Manning tried to lead a late comeback for the Broncos (1-2) for the second straight game, but again came up short. Manning threw for 330 yards and two touchdowns, but had 26 incompletions. "It's hard to think about anything, really, besides losing two games in a row in a tough fashion," Manning said.

Denver only managed 59 yards rushing.

The Texans got a scare in the third quarter when Schaub's helmet was ripped off on a violent hit that left his ear bleeding, but he finished the game. The hit was called a roughing the passer penalty on Denver's Joe Mays.

Raiders Stun Steelers In Wild Finish

Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images(OAKLAND) -- The Oakland Raiders made sure their first win of the season an exciting one.

Sebastian Janikowski kicked a 43-yard field goal as time expired and the Raiders (1-2) rallied from a 10-point fourth quarter deficit to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-31 on Sunday.

The Raiders appeared headed to their third straight loss to open the season, but quarterback Carson Palmer directed three scoring drives in the final quarter, including a big third down conversion with under two minutes to play on a drive that ended up with Janikowski nailing the game-winner.

The win was the first in the career of Oakland head coach Dennis Allen. "You put a lot of hard work, blood sweat and tears into trying to build a championship team, and one of your guys goes down, especially in a situation like that, it's hard to keep your focus," coach Dennis Allen said.

Raiders wide receiver Darius Heyward-Bey was carted off the field in the fourth quarter and hospitalized after a violent hit in the endzone left him unconscious. He did flash the thumbs up sign as he left the playing field.

Pittsburgh (1-2) saw a late lead dissapear, and their usually stout defense allowed 119 yards rushing. "They outplayed us defensively," Pittsburgh safety Ryan Clark said. "Their defense made the stops when they needed to, and we didn't. It wasn't from a lack of trying. Maybe it was trying too hard."
