Ahmad Bradshaw Released By New York Giants

Jim McIsaac/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The New York Giants released running back Ahmad Bradshaw on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old Bradshaw was drafted by Big Blue out of Marshall with the 250th overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft. In six seasons in the Big Apple, he rushed for 4,232 yards and 32 touchdowns on 921 carries.

“Pound for pound, Bradshaw is one of the toughest football players that I’ve been around,” Giants general manager Jerry Reese said in a released statement. “Ahmad played football like Giants football should be played.”

Bradshaw helped the Giants capture the Vince Lombardi trophy twice, in Super Bowl XLII and XLVI.

Also on Wednesday, New York parted ways with defensive tackle Chris Canty.
