Alabama Will Take on LSU in Rematch for BCS Championship

iStockPhoto/Thinkstock edit Delete caption(NEW YORK) -- The Alabama Crimson Tide beat out Oklahoma State in the final round of voting on Sunday and will take on a familiar foe in the LSU Tigers on Jan. 9 for the BCS Championship.

"Absolutely, if they're 1 and 2, and they are in all the polls released today," executive director Bill Hancock said.

In their Nov. 5 matchup, the Tigers (13-0) slipped by Alabama (11-1) 9-6 in overtime. They were the only team to hand the Crimson Tide a loss this season.

"This could be a totally different type of game," Alabama head coach Nick Saban said. "There's so many good players on both sides of the ball for both teams."

"We look forward to playing Alabama, very quality opponent," LSU head coach Les Miles said. "Certainly someone we are familiar with."
