Andy Murray Beats Roger Federer at Australian Open

Cameron Spencer/Getty Images(MELBOURNE, Australia) -- Andy Murray beat Roger Federer in five sets on Friday at the Australian Open.  Murray did something he has never done; beat Federer in a Grand Slam.

Murray came into the match with a 10-9 advantage over Federer, but had never topped the 17-time Grand Slam champion in a major.

"It's always tough against him when he plays his best tennis," Murray said, explaining why he was unable to close out the victory while serving for the match at 6-5 in the fourth set. "I was obviously very nervous. He plays his best tennis when his back is against the wall."

Murray's next task will be a finals matchup with defending champion and top-seeded Novak Djokovic on Sunday.

"This has been the court he's played his best on," said Murray.  "He plays great here and I'll obviously have to play my best here to win."

Djokovic wasn't tested in his semifinals match against David Ferrer on Thursday.
