(LOS ANGELES) -- After missing the team's season opener with a knee injury, the Los Angeles Kings activated Anze Kopitar from injured reserve Tuesday.
Kopitar played 19:54 minutes in the Kings 3-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche later that night.
The 25-year-old Kopitar sprained his right knee a little over two weeks ago while playing in Sweden during the lockout.
Kopitar led the Kings in points last season for the fifth straight time scoring 25 goals and 51 assists for the team.
To make room for Kopitar, the Kings sent recently acquired winger Anthony Stewart to their AHL affiliate in Manchester.
