Bears Confirm Forte Injury

Gregory Shamus/Getty Images(CHICAGO) -- The Chicago Bears have confirmed running back Matt Forte suffered an MCL sprain in his right knee during Sunday's home loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.  Bears head coach Lovie Smith would not put a timetable on Forte's return to the field.

"As far as when, I'll just say, you know, we're still evaluating him," Smith told reporters on Monday.  "He looked pretty good this morning, but it is an MCL sprain, he didn't finish the game, so there is concern."

The Bears are already without quarterback Jay Cutler, who had surgery to repair a fractured thumb.  The Bears, 7-5 this season, travel to Denver to take on Tim Tebow and the Broncos on Sunday.
