Bills Welcome QB Kevin Kolb To Buffalo

Norm Hall/Getty Images(ORCHARD PARK, N.Y.) -- The Bills welcomed Kevin Kolb to Buffalo on Monday. The free agent quarterback signed a two-year contract worth a maximum $13 million, according to ESPN.

Kolb is expected to compete for the starting job during training camp with returning backup Tarvaris Jackson. The team is also expected to pick up a quarterback in this month's draft.

Kolb was cut by Arizona last month, after spending two seasons in the desert.  In 15 games with the Cardinals, the 28-year-old tossed for 3,124 yards along with 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. A variety of injuries sidelined Kolb for 17 games during his tenure with the Cards.

“I know I can play at this level,” Kolb said. “I’ve done it here and there throughout my career, two-three games at a time. A, we all know I got to stay healthy and that’s where the work comes in right now and of course a lot of it is a little good luck.”

Arizona acquired Kolb in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011, where they signed him to a five-year deal worth $63 million, $20 million of which was guaranteed.
