Biron Re-Signs with Rangers

A.J. Messier/NHLI via Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The New York Rangers re-signed backup goaltender Martin Biron to a two-year $2.6 million contract on Friday.

The 34-year-old Biron has backed up Henrik Lundqvist the past two seasons. Last season he played in 21 games for the Blue Shirts, posting a 12-6-2 record with a 2.46 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage.

"Very excited to be back in NYC for the next 2 years!!" Biron said via his Twitter account. "See you all in September."

During Biron's 14-year career he has played for the Buffalo Sabres, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Islanders and the Rangers compiling 228 victories to go with a 2.61 GAA, .911 save percentage and 28 shutouts.
